Achill Island, Ireland – October 25, 2012: Contest organizers declared another official lay day today for the Aer Lingus Kite Surf Pro. Competitors and organizers remain optimistic for the recommencement of competition tomorrow.
“The wind is back and the weather is absolutely gorgeous today”, said KSP Tour Manager Kristin Boese. “Now we are looking for that wind swell to build up to allow us to hopefully get underway tomorrow and set ourselves up for a great finish in the bigger ground swell expected this weekend.”
KSP Competitors took advantage of the beautiful autumn weather today on and around the mobile event’s home base of Achill Island by hiking and sampling some of the flat-water kiteboarding locations on offer. Contest directors will evaluate conditions at dawn tomorrow to determine a possible competition venue for the day.
Men’s heat number 8 will be up first with Keahi De Aboitiz (AUS, Cabrinha), World Champion Airton Cozzolino (ITA, North) and local wildcard Mark Barry (IRL), followed by women’s round 1.
Tune in to www.kspworldtour.com/live tomorrow at 10 am to watch the morning show and receive the latest updates.
