KSP_AGMpic1a

Cascais, Portugal – May 29, 2012: The Kite Surf Pro (KSP) today held its first Annual General Meeting to assess the organization’s operations during 2011, discuss input from KSP members, and review plans, challenges and opportunities for 2012.

Generously hosted by Muchaxo Hotel, the AGM took place right above Guincho Beach in Cascais, Portugal, where the EDP Kite Surf Pro Cascais World Championship Tour event will take place from June 1-10.

The meeting was kicked off by KSP co-founder and President, Kristin Boese, who presented the KSP’s 2011 annual report. KSP’s Treasurer, Carola Foermer, presented the 2011 financial report and accounts.

Issue submissions from the KSP Industry Committee and KSP Riders Committee were discussed, including: the qualification system, wild cards, number of events, exclusivity of KSP, strapless riding versus straps, conditions, industry contributions, sponsor logos and naming rights, and judging criteria presentation.

A decision was made to put forward a recommendation to the KSP’s sanctioning body (the International Kiteboarding Association) to improve future qualifications as well as develop a clear pathway for up-and-coming riders.
