The KSP (Kite Surf Pro e.V.) is the world championship tour for kite surfing in the waves, sanctioned by the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association) and governed by the ISAF (World Sailing Federation). Bringing together the worlds top 24 male and 12 female riders for a series of events, the KSP determines the world championship title through the tour ranking at the end of the year/season.

Mission Statement:

The KSP's mission is to supply the world's top kitesurfers with a professional World Championship Tour consisting of prime events in prime locations to promote the surfing aspect of the sport and kiting as such to mainstream media and the public.

Background:

The KSP was launched by a core group of surf-focused riders, driven by passion and vision and established as a grass-roots non-profit association. In December 2010 the KSP applied with the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association) for the world championship title in the kite SURFING discipline and got the title granted in February 2011, making it the IKA sanctioned world championship tour in kitesurfing. The IKA is a class association inside the ISAF (International Sailing Federation) and the overseeing body of kiteboarding.

Kitesurfing has gained a lot of recognition in the past few years from riders pushing the envelop of progressive surfing with kites in renowned high-performance waves all over the planet, and the KSP is legitimately representing kite surfing in prime conditions in a professional, competitive realm.

Through it's World Championship Tour the KSP provides a professional platform for both established and aspiring kitesurfers to showcase the pinnacle of high-performance kitesurfing in some of the world's best waves, enabling them to set the performance standard for competitive kitesurfing for years to come.
